Volunteer Overview

Are you engaged in a successful business, have you been mentored, do you believe in small business; then "Pay it Forward" join SCORE and give something back to your community. One of life's greatest rewards is to help someone else succeed in an endeavor. Do you have an expertise in some field of business or industry, that you would like to share with others and help them to become successful? Would you like the opportunity to help businesses in your community succeed? Do you have a few hours a month to grow our economy and develop mutually rewarding relationships?

SCORE may be the organization for you!

SCORE offers volunteers the opportunity to help people who are ready to start a business make good decisions, set realistic goals, avoid pit-falls, secure financing, develop a sound business plan that enables a safe, profitable, and efficient start. SCORE also provides an opportunity to mentor individuals and businesses in trouble, helping them to find their way out of the woods and get back on the road to success.

As a member of the SCORE Association, you are part of a nationwide organization of highly skilled professionals who volunteer their time and talent to help local entrepreneurs and business owners. As part of that extended organization you will help other and get the support and referrals of a national organization, expanding your skills, contributing to your local community, and gaining an immense feeling of satisfaction.

Volunteering with SCORE also provides the opportunity to build relationships with colleagues, community members, and other business leaders interested in helping people achieve their dreams through business ownership.

We are always looking for talented individuals who can help grow our Chapter. We continually need members who will help market the SCORE services, recruit new members, expand our Internet presence, make our Chapter more effective through workshops, speaking engagements, seminars and fundraising. Our Chapter is essentially a small business that helps others start and grow their businesses. As such, we need infrastructure support as well as strong counseling skills.

If you are interested in volunteering, contact our volunteer coordinator at 919-469-5944 or volunteer@raleighscore.org.
